Improving myself

Is it bad that I don't know how to title posts anymore?

(As you can tell from my title, this is no longer the case.)

On a better note: Two blog entries in one week! Woot!
I've made it on of my resolutions to blog weekly, and I've already succeeded this week, twice!

Also, my iPod decided to go all wacky on me and froze up on me on Saturday, so I got it fixed today, but they had to wipe my hard drive :( This means I've lost some important notes, but more importantly it's working again. I guess this is a good thing? I haven't decided, but I will mourn my notes.
R.I.P Roxanne's Notes

There was a huge funeral, they were widely mourned, and many tears were shed.
Not really.

I ran into a upsetting issue while Rping today(yes I do rp). I found that one of my characters had turned out a lot whinier then I intended her to be, or least that's how she came off to me as, I don't know if the others felt the same way, so I spent most of the day musing over how to fix it as well as move along the plot as it had been static(on my part anyways) as well as set up for future romance for her.

English class is a huge eye opener for me. It's not just the books we read, though those do have an effect on me, it's the way my fellow classmates act and how they view things. For example we were reading Ray Bradbury's interview he did at comic con on his book and he said that he came up with the characters, but they told them their stories, not him making up the stories for them. As a writer, I could totally relate, but nearly all my classmates just couldn't wrap their heads around it, even though I tried to explain it to them, but they just didn't get it... It was then that I realized HOW different I am from my classmates, and even other teens. I shared this to my friends as well and only the really artisty ones and the writers understood(which are like 3 out of my inner circle of friends). Another issue is cell-phones and social interaction. As an introvert, I don't like hanging out with people, but they don't understand this, and it blows their minds that I can't text. Sometimes I feel like I live in the wrong place, and it amuses me.

Another resolution I have made is to be more assertive and write at least seven hours a week. So far I'm falling behind on the later one, and I just made the former one.

I just realized how short my posts are. Huh. Well, hopefully I'll get better as the year goes on.

HAPPY TOLKIEN DAY!

Welcome 2013!

How even worse my habits are becoming! I see now that it has been nearly a year since I last posted, isn't that just dreadful? Well, as least I'm not as bad as Jo from Little Women!

I'd give you a life update on myself, but I feel like that isn't really necessary, as this is about writing, not my life! But I would like to mention that I've become a fan of Doctor who, and yes, I did go see the Hobbit, and I found it to be fantastic.

Being a writer as well as an artist and actor, I have a hard time watching T.V shows or movies, especially if they're based off books. This is mainly because it they're not based off books, I can guess what's going to happen and that takes the thrill out for me. The book based shows and movies bother me for one or two reasons, one is because they don't follow books, the other is that the people who JUST see the movie think they know what they're talking about.

Fans are also a huge issue with me. They drive me crazy. For example, BBC's Sherlock. I LOVE that show, I think it's well written, well produced, and the acting is wonderful. However, I hate the fact that a lot of the fans(mainly the female ones) pair up Watson and Sherlock as a gay couple, when in the books, and show, that is not how their relationship works, they are each others best friends and practically  brothers. There's merely the running gag that they are gay. Also, in both the novels and the show, Watson has proved that he is interested in women, and the only person Sherlock showed romantic interest in was Irene Adler. I hope that one day when I get famous that I don't have fans who take my work the wrong way(which will not happen), or that I have the grace to handle them well when they do.

I've thought of a new character. His name is William Drake. I won't tell you much about him in fear of someone stealing him. Perhaps one day you will see him in a book :D

I have discovered this year that I have a problem of not sticking to one story. However, I have made a new year's resolution to finish one full rough draft of a novel, which will be my 2011 NaNoWrMo novel, which I have started typing up as that way is much easier for me to work on and my on paper draft was quite horrid.

I wish I had the kind of mind to be able to write inspiring quotes, or the person with the words to make people rise up in action, I wish my works could change the world. Maybe they will. We'll just have to wait and see.

My apologies

I must apologize for my lack of posting, but I am sure few of you care.
It seems few care for whatever I do. But, that doesn't matter. This is not an emo person blog, this is a writer's blog. So I shall tell you my adventures of writing and reading an such.

So as I may have mentioned in an earlier post I am an actor. And I decided to take a monologue from Anne of Green Gables, and just that got me smitten with the series. I've read nearly 4 books in about 3 days, and not all of them have been full of reading time. There are just simply marvelous, and I wish they went on longer, but sadly they don't. They all spark my interest for Jane Austen books. Sigh... I need more books like that.

I have a few friends at my school that are writers, and a few friends not at school who are writers as well. I became friends with my out of school friends that are writers because they were writers, but I remained their friend because they are other things besides writers, they're amazing people, great friends, and they are great comforters. My school writing friends were my friends before they started to write, and they wrote because they had a good idea, and I, having been away when they started, had nothing to do with it. We love to talk about our books, but we talk about other things too. My point is, you don't have to be a writer to be my friend, and writing isn't my life. But it kinda sucks when people don't think that. I have a friend who started writing because she thinks that you have to write to be my friend. I told her that she didn't have to write to be my friend, and she wouldn't listen, she thinks that I was just saying that to make her feel better (I know because another mutual friend told me she thought this.). Sigh. It sucks sometimes to be me. However, she never continued it, and is now a jerk to me. I'm considering omitting her from my story, but that isn't very fair now is it?

As you may know, there is this thing called: NaNoWrMo. Or National Novel Writing Month. I took part in this, but sadly I only reached 6,000 or so words(pathetic right?). However I am in love with this story, and I cannot wait for it to be done because I'm bursting with ideas. I also am writing another novel too. I'll tell about them more in another post.

I miss camp dreadfully. Camp is a magical place that inspires beyond comprehension. Some people don't understand my love for it, but luckily I have a few people around me who know. Tuesday's are when my "homesickness" is the worse...

Well. Farewell to all you readers. I'm glad you read all the way through.

Mentally Preparing...

So I start school in two days, lovely right? Yup. I have to deal with a bunch of people I have hardly seen this summer, as I have been at camp almost the entirety of the summer, and I also have to deal with classes and teachers I don't know if I'm ready for. We'll find out how it goes on Thursday.

I tried out for the musical on Saturday, and I think it went well, but we won't find out until school starts. Fingers crossed that it went well. I never realized how much talent we had at our school, but the qeustion is, who impressed the director and who didn't? I don't know if I did, and I don't know who did. Well, I have an inkling as to who did.

After the try outs I went to a sleepover at my friend, to protect her I have changed her name, Taylor's house. I had a lot of fun and by her status update, I think she did too. Since neither of us we did not do normal things that girls do at sleepovers, or anything that the movies show that girls do at sleepovers, and I will not tell you what we did, but it gave me some ideas for my comics and stories.

After I got back from Taylor's house, I went to, her name has also been changed, Tira's house. We also had fun, but our sleepover was kind of normal.

I came home after that and watched a movie with my mom, and today I hung out with another of my friends.

I started my second comic, and I have the first two pages, and I'm still only at the second page of the first comic, but I promise I will continue them both.

So I'm sure I've bored you to death, and I congratulate you on staying on this far, so now you will be rewarded. You will get a tibit of my story and a character idea I'm playing with.

This is Scarlett Dragonshade. Scarlett grew up on the streets, and don't let her looks fool you. She can utterly destroy you, either mentally or physically before you know what happened. She's tough and dangerous, and the fact she's grown up on the street shows. She attends a school for a special type of spy, the spy that spies on spies, deals with mythical creatures, and fixes the government problems. Despite her tough shell, Scarlett is very vulnerable on the inside and is hungry for kindness and love. She's the outcast at her school, despite her being the top of the class, mostly because everyone thinks that she thinks she better then everyone else.

(I don't have a story yet for her, but I have an idea, and I need to decide if she will be the main character or the secondary main character. Yes, I did draw that.)

Story time!

In a black and white modern styled bedroom in and opulent cavernous house in (insert city name here), Virgina, a young man stirred from sleep. His name was Zeki, Zeki Lemon. He rolled onto the floor making a loud thud as he hit the black carpet. He didn't have to worry about waking anyone up, his parents were never home and the servants were all awake. He slowly rose to his feet and stretched. It was time for him t o go to the nest filled with buzzing idiots who thought they ruled the world, knew everything, and the allowed their hormones to rule them. He meant high school. The worst thing about it was that he had to pretend to be just like them. Disgusting. Zeki let out a breath of air and ran a hand through his saggy, curly orange hair, his intelligent green eyes taking in his neatly kept and breath-taking room. It bored him; he would have to talk to his mother about changing it again. He changed into a pair of dark baggy jeans, black and white pumas and a t-shirt sporting Lil' Wayne's newest album cover.

He hated lil' Wayne, but he had to pretend as if he did to keep his image up. Teenagers were so... judgmental, and dense. He headed downstairs to the lowest level of the nearly empty old house. It would have bee creepy, but Zeki was used to it, he was used to be alone.

(Ok, so I could really use some help coming up with a name for his city's name, any ideas?)

The First Post....

So, hi there, if you're reading this, then you managed to some how get here, either by accident, or on purpose. Either way, welcome!

This is my first post here on my blog, and probably the last one for a while, since I don't plan on officially starting this thing until school starts on September 1st. But I might post some more this week, who knows, oh wait, I do!

Anyways, let me first tell you something, Roxanne isn't actually my name, then what is it? I'm not telling you, maybe you'll find out some day with my books published and on shelves, but maybe I'll be using a pen name then too, then you'll forever be in confusion.

So, to the writer part of this blog. I am currently writing two comics, have a few unwritten story ideas, a work in progress book, and a story idea for NaNoWrMo. You might ask, 'What's that?' NanoWrMo is National Write a Novel Month, and yes, I'm taking part in it.

Another thing you should know about me, I am in two extracurricular activities, soccer, and theater, so if I'm not posting at a regular pattern that's why.
That's all for now, unless I think of something else, so thanks for checking this out.
Good bye!
